Senate Confirms Puneet Talwar as New US Ambassador to Morocco

The US Senate has confirmed the identity of the new US ambassador to Morocco. His appointment was proposed by the US State Department.
Puneet Talwar is the new representative of American diplomacy in Morocco. His appointment was confirmed by the US Senate. "Our partnership with Morocco is essential for regional peace, security and prosperity," says the US State Department.
Prior to his new appointment, Puneet held the position of Deputy Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs from 2014 to November 2015. He was one of Barack Obama’s advisers in the Middle East and remains a central figure in the negotiations that led to the Iranian nuclear deal. For twelve years, he worked as an advisor to Senator Joe Biden on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
