Ukraine’s Zelensky Appoints New Ambassador to Morocco Amid Diplomatic Shifts

Ukraine has a new ambassador to Morocco appointed by decree by its president Volodymyr Zelensky.
It is Sayenko Serhii Valeriiovych who succeeds Oksana Vasylieva in the position of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Morocco in Rabat. The latter was recalled to Ukraine in March, as she was deemed "unable to defend Kiev’s interests" after the outbreak of the war with Russia.
Morocco, despite its abstention from votes on resolutions on sanctions against Russia at the UN, still maintains good relations with Ukraine. This is evidenced by the recent exchanges between Nasser Bourita and the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba.
"Ukraine and Morocco maintain friendly bilateral relations, and we hope to further strengthen them in all areas, particularly in terms of food security, trade revival and cooperation within international organizations," the Ukrainian minister had tweeted after these exchanges.
