Security Concerns Overshadow African Football League Semi-Final in Tunisia

Traveling to Tunisia, currently shaken by a political crisis, to follow the semi-final of the African football league (AFL) this Wednesday pitting Wydad of Casablanca against Espérance sportive de Tunis, is a big risk not to be taken by the supporters of the Moroccan club.
The match will be played under high surveillance, in a country on general alert since five individuals, presumed "terrorists" and considered "dangerous", escaped from prison. Despite assurances from the Tunisian authorities that the situation is under control, an atmosphere of insecurity prevails in the capital.
A group of hooded individuals armed with sabers and knives threaten to attack the ultras and all the supporters of Wydad. "They asked us if we were ultras, we replied that we were journalists who had come to cover the Maghreb derby. They told us that we were lucky to be journalists, otherwise they would have massacred us!" confides a Challenge reporter.
The already tense situation risks escalating in the event of a Wydad of Casablanca victory, which won 1-0 on Sunday at the Mohammed V complex stadium in Casablanca, in the first leg.
