SDX Energy Plans 12 New Gas Wells in Morocco to Boost Production

By scheduling 12 new wells as part of its new campaign, SDX Energy intends to produce 15 billion cubic feet of raw gas. This campaign is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2020 and is divided into three phases, namely 7 wells located in the company’s main producing concessions, in the Sebou and Gharb Basin permits.

According to the newspaper Le matin, these are "low-risk" wells whose chances of delivering satisfactory quantities of gas are high. Close to existing infrastructure, they can be quickly connected to the company’s network and are therefore considered low-cost interests.

As for the 2nd phase, it takes into account two wells located further north of the Gharb Center permit and away from the company’s infrastructure and which resemble those where gas discoveries have been made on the Sebou and Gharb Center permits.

Given the risk they could pose, the manager sets conditions: "If they give good results, these wells will allow the creation of new drilling areas rich in resources".

As for the third phase, composed of three wells, considered "high risk", it will take place in the Lalla Mimouna Nord concession and will target greater depths than usual.

More cautious, the Acting Director makes hypotheses: "If the first well does not meet our expectations, we will be able to move the drilling platform to our main production area and end this campaign by drilling two additional wells, at lower risk but smaller, with a view to adding additional reserves," he suggests.
