SDX Energy Discovers Commercially Viable Gas in Morocco’s Gharb Basin

SDX Energy, the gas explorer that operates natural gas fields in the Gharb basin, has drilled 7 wells as part of the 12-well drilling campaign launched in 2019.
Five of the seven wells drilled have produced commercially viable gas, said the British company that exploits natural gas fields in the Gharb basin, SDX Energy. The same structure specifies that this drilling adds an additional capacity of 2 to 2.5 billion cubic feet of commercial gas.
Given the low connection costs, and assuming the wells remain productive, the company estimates that these reserves will be sufficient to meet the contracts of existing customers over the next 30 to 36 months, says SDX Energy.
Around 40.7 million, or $4.5 million more than the forecasts for 2019, were invested by the British company in Morocco and Egypt due to the drilling of two additional wells in Morocco, the same source said.
Furthermore, the British company, signatory of five concession contracts, including two signed in 2019, monopolizes the exploration of gas fields in the Gharb basin, particularly those located in the regions of Sebou, Lalla Mimouna and Moulay Boucheta.
