SDX Energy Launches Second Phase of Gas Exploration in Morocco’s Gharb Basin

The oil and gas company SDX Energy announced on November 19 the start of the second phase of the drilling operation launched in the northeast of the Gharb basin in Morocco.
After completing the initial phase at the end of June, SDX Energy plans to launch new explorations this year. This involves two wells, the first of which, called KSR-19, has already been launched and will be followed by a second, SAK-1. The two targets are part of the Lalla Mimouna permit, according to a press release from the management.
According to the note, KSR-19 is close to the company’s existing infrastructure, allowing for rapid and low-cost connection. SAK-1 is a little further from the existing infrastructure, but will still be relatively quick to connect and, in case of success, will open up a new drilling and subsequent exploitation area.
"The objective of these wells is to add reserves to allow us to continue to deliver gas to our customers in accordance with their contractual requirements," said Mark Reid, CEO of SDX Energy, quoted in the press release.
