SDX Energy Delays Drilling in Morocco as COVID-19 Restrictions Disrupt Operations

The closure of borders and the tightening of restrictive measures have severely affected the drilling activities of the energy company SDX Energy PLC.
Thus, its current campaign of two wells will not be able to be completed by the end of December, as planned, the company’s management said, citing operational problems and health restrictions at the borders.
The company’s performance issues have also affected the mobilization of equipment and personnel in Morocco, it was said, adding that the campaign started should now be completed in the middle of the first quarter of 2022.
"Although this delay is disappointing, we want to take the time necessary to ensure that the operational issues that have impacted the drilling of KSR-19 are addressed in depth, allowing us to safely resume drilling as soon as possible," said Mark Reid, CEO of SDX Energy.
