Schengen Visa Rejections Surge: 30% of Moroccan Applications Denied in 2022

30% of Schengen visa applications filed by Moroccan nationals were rejected in 2022. This is revealed by the VisaSchengen portal.
29.7% of the 423,201 files submitted by Moroccans in 2022 to the consular services of the states of this area received a negative response, specifies VisaSchengen. Most of the refusals come from France and Spain with 85% of the total refusals. France rejected more than 50,000 visa applications out of more than 160,000, i.e. a refusal rate of nearly 32%. Spain rejected more than 50,000 applications out of more than 200,000 applications, i.e. a refusal rate of 25%.
With a refusal rate of 30%, Morocco remains classified among the states with the highest refusal rates for the second consecutive year. Out of 163 countries, 28 have a refusal rate higher than that of Morocco. Algeria has a refusal rate of 48%. It is followed by Nigeria and Guinea-Bissau (45.6% each).
