France ended its visa policy for Moroccans at the end of December. An authorized source within the Quai d’Orsay assures that "the situation is totally back to normal."
"The situation is totally back to normal," an authorized source at the Quai d’Orsay told Médias24. However, "there may be rare errors or even refusals as in all consular files, but they remain in the minority and should not be the subject of generalizations or shortcuts." According to him, the current rejection rate of filed applications is estimated at 18%, as in 2019.
Regarding the maximum filing capacity in the TLS offices, and on its forecasts by the end of the year, the same source is counting on "about 8,000 per week, or 1,600 applications per day spread across the entire Moroccan territory". "With such a volume, our consular posts have more or less regained the number of applications processed in 2019, which amounted to a total annual figure of 420,000 for 340,000 visas issued. If we estimate the current demand volume at the 2019 level, the number of visas that will be issued in 2023 will of course depend on the quality of the applications filed, namely their completeness and the absence of false supporting documents," the diplomat advances.

What about the average time required to obtain a physical appointment with a TLS office? According to him, the waiting time varies depending on the categories of visa applicants, but also on each of the seven TLS centers spread across the Moroccan territory. "To give you concrete examples, the delay is J+1 for truck drivers, medical visa applicants or long-stay study visas. For short-stay tourist visas, we open new slots every 15 days according to a random schedule that will counter intermediaries," he explains, adding that Moroccan nationals wishing to travel to France between June and July for a tourist stay or students who need to register or take an exam are still on time to submit their application.
