Samuel Eto’o Predicts All-African World Cup Final Between Cameroon and Morocco

Less than two weeks before the start of the World Cup, former football star and current president of the Cameroonian Football Federation, Samuel Eto’o, has given his predictions for the final of the competition, predicting a Cameroon-Morocco showdown on the evening of December 18.
"Over the years, African teams have gained more and more experience, and I think they are ready not only to participate in a World Cup, but also to win this competition," said the former FC Barcelona player in an interview.
In this sense, the former Indomitable Lion predicted a 100% African final between Cameroon and Morocco for the next World Cup in Qatar. A match that would make football fans on the continent dream, he stressed.
Samuel Eto’o went further by outlining the laudable path that the Atlas Lions will take to reach the final. According to him, Morocco will have outclassed Spain in the round of 16, Portugal in the quarter-finals and defending champions France in the semi-finals. On the Cameroon side, the final will come through victories against Belgium (in the quarter-finals) and Senegal, the winner of the Africa Cup of Nations, in the semi-finals, he said.
As for the outcome of this unprecedented match, the four-time African Ballon d’Or winner did not hesitate to declare that Cameroon will be world champions. "Africa has always had the potential to achieve great World Cups, but we have not always shown our best face so far. Over the years, African teams have gained more and more experience, and I think they are ready not only to participate in a World Cup, but also to win this competition," he noted.
