Salé Murder: Life Sentence for Killer in Brutal Child Slaying Case

One of the co-defendants in the murder of a minor in Salé was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Criminal Chamber of the Rabat Court of Appeal. His accomplice is awaiting his trial.
It has been more than a year (April 2018) since the murder of the minor was committed by two young people. And it was the police who had discovered the decomposing body of the child.
Under the influence of drugs, the two defendants had in fact attacked the victim during a dispute on the public highway, recalls the newspaper Al Akhbar.
Having noted the death of the minor, they had dragged his body towards the Turkish bath, mutilated it, before hiding it without the smell of its decomposition alerting anyone.
Similarly, the two defendants regularly went to the scene to spray the corpse with acid and deodorizers. In vain.
The owner of a nearby pharmacy smelled bad odors in his environment. Immediately, he alerted the police. The investigations of the Judicial Police proved fruitful: the two murderers (one barely 16 years old and the other just reaching the age of majority) were arrested.
The Prosecutor confirmed the maximum sentence requested against the elder of them by the Public Prosecutor’s Office. He was therefore sentenced to life imprisonment. His accomplice, on the other hand, is awaiting the verdict of the juvenile criminal justice system.
