Ryanair Strike: Belgian Staff Walkout Disrupts Holiday Flights to Morocco

The situation is worsening between the Irish airline Ryanair and its Belgian staff. The latter has announced strike action during the last weekend of 2022 and the first of 2023. As a result, several flights will be canceled during this period, including those to Morocco.
Negotiations between Ryanair’s Belgian employees, gathered within the French-speaking Christian trade unions CNE and the Flemish ACV Puls, and management have apparently not been successful. The cabin crew of the company has indeed launched a strike on Friday, December 30 and Saturday, December 31 and Sunday, January 1, as well as on Saturday, January 7 and Sunday, January 8, at the end of the Christmas holidays, reports Belga.
This movement will have consequences on the flights scheduled by the company. In total, 107 flights departing from this airport, including those to Marrakech, will be canceled for the New Year’s weekend alone, we are told. In addition to the ochre city, flights to Tenerife, Dublin, Malaga and Lisbon will also be canceled. In total, around 19,000 passengers will be affected.
Faced with the situation, Ryanair said that arrangements are being made to inform each affected passenger. The management of Charleroi airport denounces a "hostage-taking" while, on the union side, we believe that the expression is exaggerated and that solutions exist for the affected passengers.
