Ryanair Strike Threatens Flights to Morocco as Belgian Crew Demands Better Conditions

Ryanair cabin crew based in Belgium will go on strike for three days from June 24 to 26, demanding an improvement in their working conditions. This action could affect flights to Morocco.

The announcement of this movement marks the end of a series of aborted negotiations between the unions and Ryanair on the deterioration of employees’ working conditions, according to a statement from the CNE union.

The Irish airline sent a final proposal to the Belgian unions on June 17, but they rejected it as it did not meet the demands of the cabin crew. "We have gone to the very end of the negotiations!" said Didier Lebbe, secretary of the CNE, regretting that the employees were not heard.

The strike will also take place among the Spanish staff from June 24 to 26 and from June 30 to July 2. Their Portuguese counterpart has also followed the same call, calling on Tuesday for a three-day strike, also from June 24 to 26. With this announcement in Belgium, the European solidarity mentioned by the European unions in mid-May is slowly taking shape.
