Ryanair strengthens its presence even more in Morocco, and targets Rabat airport

The announcement took place on the tarmac of Rabat-Salé airport, in the presence of the Minister of Tourism, Fatim Zahra Ammor, and the company’s CEO, Eddie Wilson. Starting in April 2026, the low-cost carrier will position two aircraft on site to operate a total of 20 routes. This new base will allow the launch of seven new international routes, directly connecting Rabat to Milan Bergamo, Baden-Baden, Frankfurt Hahn, Nuremberg, Porto, Pisa and Valencia.

This ramp-up will significantly increase the offer from the capital. With more than 18 additional weekly flights and 79,000 new seats, Ryanair’s operations in Rabat will record a 49% growth. For the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), this deployment aims to diversify the entry points of the country and prepare the ground for the major events to come, in particular the 2030 World Cup.

The economic impact of this establishment is immediate. The opening of the base is expected to generate more than 800 direct and indirect jobs, including 60 highly skilled positions for pilots and cabin crew. It will also result in a 45% increase in the overall capacity of Rabat airport, as part of a record summer program for the company, which plans to transport more than 10.7 million passengers across the Kingdom.
