Ryanair passengers in Rabat can now check bags at self-service kiosks
Six kiosks now allow Ryanair passengers to check their own bags at Rabat-Salé. Airports of Morocco estimates the potential time savings for the process at between 50 and 75% and is preparing to expand the system to other airports.

At Terminal 2 of Rabat-Salé, checked baggage drop-off is now self-service. Passengers who have already checked in follow the instructions on automated kiosks to hand over their bags, with the aim of shortening queues at the bag-drop facilities.
In a statement issued on 23 October, Airports of Morocco, formerly ONDA, cited a potential 50 to 75% reduction in the time spent on this procedure.
The system was first introduced at Casablanca-Mohammed V for Royal Air Maroc passengers. With Rabat-Salé and Ryanair, the operator is now launching a new phase of nationwide rollout.
Ryanair’s procedures and the next steps in the rollout
When departing from Morocco, Ryanair requires passengers to check in online and then collect a boarding pass at the counter, in line with its official instructions. The new kiosks handle the drop-off of checked baggage.
The airline also reminds passengers that online check-in closes two hours before the flight and that counters at Moroccan airports close 60 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
In 2022, Rabat-Salé was already the focus of a project for twelve biometric baggage kiosks. The current announcement concerns six kiosks for Ryanair.
Airports of Morocco plans to gradually roll out this technology at the Kingdom’s other airports. According to the operator, nearly two-thirds of passenger traffic is affected by this change to the airport journey.
Automated baggage drop is in addition to two other projects announced by ONDA: expanding the use of mobile boarding passes and the Pax Check system, designed to streamline passenger checks.
