Royal Air Maroc Expands Brazil Routes, Plans Rio de Janeiro Flight Resumption

Royal Air Maroc (RAM) wants to strengthen its links to Brazil. After the resumption of its direct line between São Paulo and Casablanca about two months ago, the Moroccan airline plans to increase the weekly rotations from three to five or even six flights by the end of the year, and to restore the one with Rio de Janeiro.

"We started with three flights a week, but our goal is to reach five or six frequencies, as before the pandemic," Othman Baba, CEO of Royal Air Maroc in Brazil, said on Tuesday during a visit to the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), stressing the strong demand (85 to 88% load factor on flights) recorded since the relaunch of this line last December.

RAM also plans to restore its link with Rio de Janeiro, suspended since 2020 due to the Covid-2019 health crisis. A resumption that will strengthen the presence of the Moroccan company in South America, as it aims to make its direct Casablanca-São Paulo link a privileged access point between Africa and this sub-continent.
