Royal Air Maroc and China Southern Airlines Partner to Boost Africa-China Air Links

The national airline Royal Air Maroc (RAM) and China Southern Airlines agree to strengthen air connectivity between Africa and China.
Royal Air Maroc and the Chinese airline "China Southern Airlines Company Limited (China Southern) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen connectivity between China and Africa, responding to the growing demand for travel between the two regions. This agreement provides that the two airlines will extend their interline cooperation and establish a code-sharing partnership, thus improving connections between China, Asia and Africa. It also includes projects to explore collaboration in passenger and freight transportation, with the aim of offering smoother and higher quality services.
For Qu Guangji, Executive Vice President of China Southern Airlines, this partnership is an important step in line with the Belt and Road Initiative. Hamid Addou, CEO of RAM, for his part, described this agreement as a major turning point in strengthening air relations between Africa and China, but also in the development of tourism and the strengthening of economic and trade relations between China and Africa.
Since January 20, 2025, Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has resumed its direct Casablanca-Beijing route. It operates three weekly flights.
