Royal Air Maroc Leases Airbus A330-200 for Summer Routes to Paris and Istanbul

The airline Royal Air Maroc has leased an Airbus A330-200 to strengthen its operations this summer. The plane, operated by Air Belgium, will be deployed between Casablanca and Paris-CDG as well as Istanbul.

The A330-200 will be in service from June 14 to September 3, 2023, reports Air Journal and Aeroroutes. Royal Air Maroc will use this plane on its daily rotation, leaving Casablanca Airport at 4:40 pm to arrive in Paris at 6:45 pm. The return flight will depart from France at 8:25 pm and land at 10:35 pm.

Before being put into service on the Casablanca-Paris route, the same A330-200 will be used by Royal Air Maroc from June 15 to 23 on the Casablanca-Istanbul route. The flights will depart from Casablanca at 10:00 am (arrival at 4:40 pm) and depart from Istanbul at 6:10 pm (arrival at 9:10 pm).

According to the same sources, Royal Air Maroc will also lease Airbus A320 aircraft from Nouvelair, with crew, until mid-September. These planes will operate flights between Agadir and Oujda to Paris-Orly.

Royal Air Maroc has big ambitions this summer

Yesterday, the CEO of Royal Air Maroc (RAM), Abdelhamid Addou, announced important news regarding the upcoming summer season and the acquisition of new aircraft. For the summer season, the company will offer a total of 6.2 million seats on 90 destinations. This includes offers to 34 European airports, North America, Africa with 26 direct links, as well as the Middle East markets. To support this expansion, RAM plans to lease six additional new generation aircraft.

In addition, the CEO revealed RAM’s medium-term ambitions, which aim to become the leading airline in Africa by strengthening its position on the continent. A strategic growth plan for the next ten years has also been unveiled, notably aiming to double the size of the company’s fleet.
