Royal Air Maroc to Expand Fleet and International Routes in Major Growth Plan

During a parliamentary session, Mohammed Abdeljalil, Minister of Transport and Logistics, discussed the new 2023-2037 program contract between the government and Royal Air Maroc (RAM).
This ambitious plan aims to significantly expand the network of Mohammed V Airport, promising to connect Casablanca to a multitude of new international destinations. The minister stated that the objective is to strengthen the RAM fleet to 200 aircraft by 2037 and committed to restoring the canceled routes, particularly to 33 European cities currently connected.
The minister also acknowledged the challenges imposed by the Covid-19 crisis, during which RAM had to adjust its services and cancel several flights to Europe. This difficult period had a global impact on the aviation sector, but thanks to the open skies agreement with the European Union, RAM intends to restore and even expand its direct links between Moroccan and European cities.
The program contract plans to transform Royal Air Maroc into a major player, not only at the regional but also global level. By increasing its fleet from 50 to 200 aircraft by 2037, the Moroccan company aims to make the Casablanca airport an essential hub in Africa.
