Royal Air Maroc Climbs to 106th in Global Airline Rankings, Transports Nearly 7 Million Passengers

With nearly 7 million passengers transported, the airline Royal Air Maroc (RAM) is ranked 106th in the "World Airline Passenger Ranking 2021" by Cirium, published on September 1, 2022. It gains two places compared to 2019.
Little by little, RAM is regaining a certain stability and returning to the ranking of airlines with a high passenger rate. According to the "World Airline Passenger Ranking 2021" by Cirium, the Moroccan national airline transported 6.897 million passengers, an increase of 40% compared to 2020 where, with a 60% drop, it was still in the ranking, like Ethiopian Airlines and Egyptair, reports Hespress.
Globally, it is the American companies that are in the lead, with the first four places occupied respectively by Americain Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines and Southwest Airlines. The fifth place is occupied by Ryanair, moreover the only European company to be in the global top 10 with more than 120 million passengers transported. We also find Emirates, Qatar Airways and Turkish Airlines.
This "World Airline Passenger Ranking 2021" which was based on the monitoring of more than 600 operators showed "that in 2021 global traffic experienced a 57% drop compared to its pre-Covid-19 pandemic peak. The total number of passengers reached 2.3 billion throughout the year, or about half the number reached at the 2019 peak," the same source specifies.
