Royal Air Maroc Nosedives in Global Airline Rankings, Loses African Dominance

The national airline Royal Air Maroc (RAM) plummets in the ranking of the 100 best airlines in the world.
Royal Air Maroc (RAM) is ranked 70th in the ranking of the 100 best airlines in the world, established by the international air transport rating agency Skytrax, a loss of 15 places compared to the previous ranking (55th place). At the African level, the national airline has fallen to sixth place, while it was in second place in the previous ranking. It is overtaken by Ethiopian Airlines, which has maintained its position as the best airline in the continent, Air Mauritius, RwandAir, South African Airways and EgyptAir.
The decline in Royal Air Maroc’s ranking could indicate that the airline is facing stiffer competition or difficulties in meeting customer expectations, notes Morocco World News, recalling that RAM serves more than 80 destinations in Morocco and internationally, particularly in Africa, Europe, North America, the Middle East and elsewhere. As a member of the Oneworld alliance, the national airline plays an important role in connecting Morocco and West Africa with the rest of the world.
Globally, Qatar Airways maintains its lead in the ranking of the 100 best airlines. It is followed by Singapore Airlines, second, and Cathay Pacific Airways, third. These airlines owe their positions to the quality of their services, the comfort and the experience of their passengers.
To establish its annual ranking, Skytrax conducts an annual survey on customer satisfaction. The survey was conducted among millions of passengers from a hundred different airlines. These passengers rated their airlines in a questionnaire concerning cabin service, comfort, meal quality and the efficiency of airport operations.
