Royal Air Maroc Cancels Boeing 737 Max Order, Plans Fleet Renewal Tender

The airline Royal Air Maroc has canceled the delivery of its last two Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft. It plans to launch a tender for the renewal of its Boeing 737NG fleet.
The last two Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft ordered will no longer be delivered to Royal Air Maroc, as the airline is renouncing them, reports Le Journal de l’aviation. This decision would be justified by the fact that the company already operates a 737 Max 8 (CN-MAX) received in December 2018, and a 737 Max 8 (CN-MAY) delivered on March 1, 2019, just a few days before the Ethiopian Airlines 737 Max accident. Grounded for two years, they began flying again in July 2021.
After Royal Air Maroc’s renunciation, the two aircraft (LN 7460&7601) have joined the fleet of the Icelandic airline Icelandair. Now registered TF-ICL and TF-ICM, they are configured in biclass with 16 economy class seats.
It should be noted that the national airline plans to launch a tender for the renewal of its Boeing 737NG fleet.
