Royal Air Maroc acquires the west coast of the United States
Royal Air Maroc opens a direct connection between Casablanca and Los Angeles. This is the first time an airline has connected Africa to the west coast of the United States without a stopover. This new service will be operational as of June 2026, just before the start of the World Cup.
Flights will begin on June 7, 2026 and will be operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The airline has planned three rotations per week, on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The planes will take off from Casablanca at 4:00 am and land in California at 8:20 am, after a journey of about twelve hours. On the return, the departure is set at 10:20 am for an arrival in Morocco the next day at 5:25 am. Ticket sales begin this Thursday, December 4.
This new route aims to meet the transportation demand related to the Football World Cup. It targets Moroccan and African supporters, as well as the diaspora and business travelers. Hamid Addou, the CEO of the company, describes this launch as an important step for the connectivity of the continent. The ambition is to connect Morocco to the major global economic centers and increase the number of American tourists in the Kingdom.
