Rising Star Adnane Abid Signs with Standard, Dreams of Morocco National Team

The Belgian-Moroccan Adnane Abid, who has just signed with Standard, has stated that playing for Morocco is a childhood dream that he wishes to one day realize.
"I was born in Belgium and I love this country, but I have dreamed since childhood of playing, who knows, one day, for Morocco. It is the choice of blood," Adnane Abid explained to Belang in December 2024. Born to Moroccan parents, the young winger has already played in the lower categories of the Red Devils. In 2021, he was with the Belgian U19s, reports La Dernière Heure.
Adnane Abid has officially been a player of Standard de Liège since this Monday, June 16. The former Patro Eisden Maasmechelen player has signed with this club until 2029 for 1.3 million euros excluding bonuses. The management of the Limburg club had asked for 2 million euros to let their best player of the past season go, 15% of which should go back to Genk where he was revealed between 2017 and 2022, before being promoted to the first team, at the same time as Bilal El Khannouss.
The 21-year-old player will participate in training with the Standard team as of this Thursday, under the orders of Mircea Rednic.
