Ride-Hailing App Heetch Expands to Marrakech, Partners with Local Taxi Drivers

The transportation service Heetch has just announced its launch in Marrakech, two years after its inauguration in Casablanca.
For Heetch, its deployment in Marrakech constitutes "a new step in its strategy to quickly and surely weave a virtuous web across the main agglomerations of the country," highlighting its association with professional taxis.
In total, 100 taxi drivers are to collaborate from the launch of the service, and their number should grow to reach 500 registered drivers by next summer, the company indicates, which has managed to convince more than 4,000 drivers in Casablanca as well as "drivers" who make more than 150,000 trips per month.
"Given the specificity of Marrakech, the training of Heetch’s Marrakech drivers provided in partnership with the UMT and the CTS (Cooperative Taxis Service) of Marrakech, will be reinforced by a complementary curriculum including an introduction to the city’s tourist component, its centuries-old history and its main tourist attractions," the company said, which is pleased to be the first transportation application in Morocco to have a legal framework and to have obtained the authorization to operate issued by the Wilaya of Casablanca.
