Barceló Hotel Group Expands in Marrakech with $35 Million Acquisition

The Barceló Hotel Group has just announced the acquisition for the sum of 35 million euros (about 360 million dirhams) of a hotel in Marrakech.
The Barceló Palmeraie (formerly Palmariva) has 252 rooms and suites and will also have two swimming pools and a garden of more than 140,000 m2, in addition to several treatment rooms, a wellness center and two restaurants (Moroccan and international).
In addition to this hotel, the Spanish group has also acquired two plots of land, one of which will allow the addition of 120 additional rooms and the other located a few kilometers away which will be used to build a new 5-star hotel with 160 rooms.
The group already has hotels in Casablanca (Barcelo Casablanca and Barcelo Anfa Casablanca), Fez (Barcelo Fès Medina), Tangier (Barcelo Tanger), Agadir (Allegro Agadir) for a total of 1,136 rooms.
