Renowned Moroccan Artist and Former Culture Minister Touria Jebrane Laid to Rest in Casablanca

Touria Jebrane Kraytif was buried in the Chouhada cemetery in Casablanca, in the presence of a limited number of people, as required by the rules established to fight against the coronavirus.
The artist and former Minister of Culture died on Monday, August 24, after a long illness. Apart from members of her family, personalities from the world of art and culture, as well as the media in Morocco, paid tribute to the deceased by participating in the burial ceremony. In a message addressed to the artist’s family, Mohammed VI also paid tribute to a woman of convictions who served her country with seriousness and dedication, reports the MAP.
Touria Jebrane had a rich and successful career. She marked the cinematographic scene for many years and put her skills at the service of strengthening the potential of several theater troupes, including "Masrah Achaab", "Masrah Al Fourja" and "Masrah Al Fannanin Al Mouttahidine". She founded with the playwright Abdelouahed Ouzari, the troupe called "Masrah Al-Yaoum", whose productions have marked many people in Morocco.
Touria Jebrane was a graduate of the National Conservatory of the Ministry of State in charge of cultural affairs and original education. She was fortunate to play at the highest level, her mission of development and promotion of art and culture. She held the position of Minister of Culture from 2007 to 2009.
