Moroccan actress Zhor Maâmri passed away on Tuesday, January 26 at her home in Rabat, after a long battle with illness.
The small-screen star, who had delighted several generations, was silently fighting Alzheimer’s disease and high blood pressure, to the point of losing all autonomy, confides her daughter Amal.
The headliner of the film "a woman in the whirlwind of life" has left her mark on the Moroccan and African cinematographic scene, winning the prize at the Tunisian Radio and Television Festival.
It was in the 1960s that Zhor Maâmri crossed paths with Abdellah Amrani at the popular theater in Rabat. An encounter that would be decisive for the rest of her career.
