Moroccan-Sahrawi Actress Defies Threats, Affirms Loyalty to Morocco

Accused of treason and attacked by Polisario movement sympathizers, young Moroccan actress Fadila Elhamel, of Sahrawi origin, broke her silence, declaring her attachment to her roots and her devotion to her country.
Disgusted by the torrents of insults and threats on social media, the lead actress of the Moroccan feature film "Sega", by director Rabii El Jawhari, decided to react to the accusations of treason.
"What homeland are you talking about?", she retorted, "the Sahara is Moroccan and I am at home," before adding "I am proud to be a Moroccan Sahrawi and I will never be intimidated by your vile and cowardly acts on social networks."
To recall, the star of the Moroccan film had aroused the wrath of Polisario supporters on social media by posting a message of support for the Royal Armed Forces on her Facebook account, and by pleading in favor of the Moroccanness of the Sahara.
