The Ligue 1 club has secured the services of the Moroccan central defender after the departures of Jérémy Morel (free, to Lorient) and Joris Gnagnon (return of loan, to FC Seville), reports Ouest France.
For the Atlas Lion, this club will now allow him to take a step forward. "I was able to exchange with Julien Stéphan before my arrival, I was seduced by the sports project. I look forward to meeting the group, being able to train with my teammates and of course discovering the Champions League," said the Moroccan player on the club’s website.
Trained at FUS Rabat, this native of Kenitra signed with his training club at the age of 17. With this team, he took his first steps in the professional world by winning the Throne Cup and the Botola in 2016 in turn.
His performances also allowed him to join the national team. His first start came at the age of 20. In 2018, he was also selected for the qualifications for the Africa Cup of Nations, against Malawi and the Comoros. In the same year, he joined Dijon for 1.4 million euros, a club in which he discovered Ligue 1. His performances allowed him to be elected best player of the group in 2018.
