Real Madrid’s Benzema: Ramadan Fasting Doesn’t Affect Soccer Training

The French striker of Real Madrid, Karim Benzema spoke about his religious practice, specifying that Ramadan does not affect his training program.
In an interview with the American magazine Esquire, the French international, of Muslim faith, explained that the fasting he is used to following does not prevent him from practicing his profession as a professional footballer.
"It has no impact. Ramadan is part of my life and my religion makes Ramadan an obligation. For me, it’s very important and I feel good when I fast," he confided.
For nearly a month, the French striker will not drink or eat, from sunrise to sunset, as required by one of the five pillars of Islam.
