Rapper French Montana Faces Lawsuit Over Miami Video Shoot Shooting

American rapper of Moroccan origin French Montana is being sued for the shooting that occurred at the restaurant The Licking in Miami Gardens, Florida, where he was filming a music video. One of the plaintiffs is seeking $50,000 in damages.
Targeted by complaints, French Montana will have to face American justice. According to lawyer Josiah Graham of the Graham Injury Firm, one of the plaintiffs, Carl Leon, who claims he was asked to be an extra in the "Igloo" video, is seeking $50,000 in damages from the rapper, reports TMZ. He accuses the performer of "Hurtin’ me" of negligence.
On January 5, a shooting took place at the soul food restaurant near Northwest 27th Avenue and 177th Street, The Licking in Miami Gardens, Florida, just before 8 p.m. (local time), during the filming of a French Montana music video. The toll was 10 seriously injured. Among them, the plaintiff Carl Leon.
The next day, the Miami police accused the rapper of being responsible for the shooting. Miami Gardens Police Chief Noel-Pratt had, in a statement, described the incident as a "senseless tragedy" that could have been avoided if the organizers had obtained the required permits from the city. "If the necessary agencies had been informed in advance and the protocol had been followed, police officers would have been in place to protect the community and help deter and respond, if necessary, to any situation that might arise," he added.
