Here’s when Ramadan will begin in Belgium

The start date of Ramadan in Belgium is now known. According to astronomical calculations, the Muslim fast should begin on Monday, March 11.
The Council of Theologians, affiliated with the Executive of Muslims of Belgium, must meet to determine the start date of the month of Ramadan. In the meantime, the holy month should begin on Monday, March 11, 2024 and end in the evening of Monday, April 8, 2024, according to the media Hamariweb, which adds that the Muslim fast will begin the same day in the majority of Arab countries. But countries like Morocco, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and other regions of the world should observe the first day of Ramadan on March 12.
Ramadan is a period of prayer and fasting, which is one of the pillars of Islam. Throughout its duration, the believers - with the exception of the most fragile people - must abstain from eating, drinking, smoking and having sexual relations from sunrise to sunset. Exceptions exist for children who have not reached puberty, pregnant women, the sick or the elderly.
In Belgium, the Muslim population is estimated between 7 and 9% of the total population. The majority of Muslims are of Moroccan and Turkish origin.
