Ramadan 2024 Begins March 11 in Belgium, Muslim Council Announces

It’s official: the month of Ramadan will begin this Monday, March 11 in Belgium, announced the Muslim Council of Belgium (CMB) on Sunday. This sacred period for Muslims is a time of piety, prayer and contemplation.
The CMB invites the faithful to take advantage of this month imbued with spirituality to multiply acts of benevolence towards their entourage, including neighbors, and thus strengthen living together.
"The Council of Muslim Theologians of Belgium attached to the EMB met today, Sunday, March 10, 2024 at 6:00 pm by videoconference to determine the beginning of the month of Ramadan 2024," the statement said.
"On this occasion, we invite citizens of Muslim faith to take advantage of this month to multiply good deeds towards the needy and vulnerable people," the EMB specifies.
During Ramadan, believers must abstain from eating, drinking, smoking and having sexual relations from sunrise to sunset. Only children, pregnant women, the sick and the elderly are exempt from this fast.
