Ramadan 2026: What is the exact date of the time change in Morocco?

In accordance with the usual practice, the Kingdom will eliminate the additional hour starting at three o’clock in the morning on February 15 next. This change comes just a few days before the estimated start of the fast. The authorities specify that this measure is intended to facilitate the organization of work and worship schedules, while adapting to the specific rhythm of the iftar and suhoor meals.

Based on astronomical forecasts, the first day of Ramadan 2026 should fall on Thursday, February 19 in Morocco. The final confirmation remains, however, dependent on the official sighting of the crescent moon by the competent authorities. If the month of Sha’ban has only 29 days, the Tarawih prayers will begin the previous evening; otherwise, the entry into the sacred month would be postponed to Friday, February 20.
