Raï Singer Faudel Promotes Morocco as Music Video Destination

Faudel, a Franco-Algerian raï singer and actor naturalized Moroccan, expresses his attachment to Morocco. He also encourages Arab artists to shoot their music videos in the country.
Faudel has chosen Morocco rather than another Arab country to shoot his musical works. In a statement to Aljarida24, he explains this choice by the fact that the kingdom has all the natural and artistic qualifications necessary to host the production of great Arab and international works. He also confided that he imposes this choice on his artist colleagues with whom he collaborates. The raï singer has also encouraged Arab artists to shoot the music videos of their songs in Morocco.
Faudel was naturalized Moroccan in 2011. He even dedicated his song "Chokran" to King Mohammed VI, causing a controversy in Algeria. "I interpreted this song to thank Morocco. I did it with heart, without pretension and without wanting to provoke any controversy related to politics. It’s just a simple gift as a thank you to Morocco," the singer had explained during a press conference, assuring that he had no intention of creating tensions with his country of origin, Algeria.
When asked about the absence of shooting his clips in his country of origin, Faudel is waiting for the opportunity to arise: "Why not, if the opportunity is given to me."
Last week, he released the music video for his new song, "Fati". But this work was not well received by many Moroccan Internet users who accused the singer of plagiarism. According to them, the idea of the clip is inspired by a song by Hatim Ammor.
