Royal Rap Romance: French Montana Engaged to Dubai Princess, Sparks Celebrity Reactions

Following the announcement of the engagement between the American rapper of Moroccan origin French Montana, 40, and the Princess of Dubai Sheikha Mahra Mohammed Rashed Al Maktoum, 31, Fat Joe has alerted the Moroccan.
"What I tell my brother is that I’m happy for you. May God bless you and your fiancée... don’t do anything stupid," jokes Joe, on the Joe and Jada podcast, prompting Jadakiss to try to hide by pulling his hood over his head, while curling up in a fetal position on the couch. He adds: "Or we’ll find you in Sudan. [...] Don’t make a mistake. That’s where they won’t come to save you."
In October 2024, French Montana met several personalities and celebrities including Princess Sheikha Mahra bint Al Maktoum in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. On Instagram, the Princess of Dubai had shared a series of photos, showing the details of this meeting. Seizing the opportunity, she had presented the performer of "Unforgettable" with her new perfume, which she launched under the name "Divorce". Since then, there had been rumors of a romantic relationship between them.
The marriage proposal took place during Paris Fashion Week in June, People reported, citing a statement from the rapper’s team. "While wedding preparations are underway, the specific dates and arrangements are still being finalized by the two families, who would be excited and encouraging," it said.
French Montana, whose real name is Karim Kharbouch, has a 16-year-old son, Kruz, with his ex-wife Deen Kharbouch, whom he married in 2007 and divorced in 2014. Daughter of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikha Mahra was married to Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum for just over a year, from 2023 to 2024. The former couple have a one-year-old daughter.
Knowing that the fiancée of French Montana’s family is very wealthy, Joe jokes that he could soon ask the performer of "Unforgettable" for a loan. "We’re so happy for you, because I know I’m qualified for a loan," he says. The performer of "What’s Luv?" continues: "I’m going to ask French Montana and I’m going to get a loan now. Like, I’m qualified for the loan. It’s not even $188 million. It’s thousands of billions! He’s part of a... yo, French, we love you, my brother! Congratulations!"
