Rabat Plans High-Level Bus Network Ahead of Major Sporting Events

Rabat will soon have its high-level bus service (BHNS) network, in order to strengthen the public transport offer before the holding of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2025) and the 2030 World Cup.

Rabat is working to improve its urban mobility. Preliminary studies for a high-level bus service (BHNS) network will soon be launched. Recently, the local development company (SDL) Rabat Région Mobilité, which is the supervisor of the project, published a call for tenders to start the necessary studies for the realization of the BHNS network. Last year, this company completed the studies of certain sections of the public transport in a dedicated lane (TCSP) master plan in tram mode. It is a question of creating a 45-kilometer bus network covering several strategic sections of the agglomeration. We can mention the Madinat Al Irfane-Hay Riad Centre section which connects the future multimodal exchange pole of Madinat Al Irfane to the Hay Riad district via the Allal Al Fassi, Abdelkarim Al Khatib, Al Haour, and Abderrahim Bouabid avenues.
