Rabat Opens 495-Space Underground Parking Facility to Ease City Congestion

The Rabat authorities have announced the opening this Saturday of the new Bab Chellah underground parking lot, to partially meet the city’s parking needs.
Make cars disappear as much as possible from the surface while promoting resident parking for a more accessible, attractive and lively city. This is the commitment of the municipality, which, given the increase in the population in the capital, makes the creation of new underground parking lots a necessity.
The new parking lot located on the outskirts of the medina, has 495 spaces, spread over two underground levels, and will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It offers a quality, secure and environmentally friendly service, meeting the most demanding international standards, according to a press release from the company Rabat Région Mobilité.
The commissioning of the new infrastructure strengthens the parking offer around the medina, bringing the total capacity to 966 spaces, the note specifies, recalling that a first parking lot was inaugurated at Bab El Had last May.
The construction of this parking lot is part of the development program for the Moroccan capital, through the "Rabat Ville Lumière, Moroccan Capital of Culture" project.
