Rabat Launches Citywide Cleanup Campaign to Address Sanitation Crisis

Meeting urgently last Thursday, the municipal council of the city of Rabat decided to take charge of the city’s cleaning service by launching a vast sanitation campaign.
With this decision, the mayor has decided to put an end to the mess reigning within the structure in charge of the city’s cleanliness. For Asmaa Rhlalou, a city like Rabat cannot be neglected in this way. This is why she has launched a large-scale cleanliness campaign that will cover all the districts and neighborhoods of Rabat, with the involvement of all stakeholders (cleaning service delegatee, elected officials, civil society, etc.). "The objective of this campaign is to definitively eliminate all the identified black spots that tarnish the image of the administrative capital," indicates the Rabat Municipal Council.
Before making this decision, Asmaa Rhlalou first held a working meeting with the companies in charge of the delegated management of the cleaning service and other actors at the municipal level. In addition to the sanitation campaign that has been launched, it was decided during this meeting on the need to provide the controllers with means of transport and surveillance. The Municipal Council office also approved the creation of 3 Special Commissions for the control and monitoring of waste produced by restaurants, cafes, nightclubs, hotels and businesses, the monitoring and management of waste from clinics and other health centers, and finally the monitoring of household waste.
"Rabat, capital of lights, a clean city". It is under this slogan that all the inhabitants are invited to work to restore the city to all its splendor.
