Rabat Officials Arrested: Two Local Authorities Linked to Municipal Warehouse Theft

The elements of the Judicial Brigade of Rabat arrested two auxiliary authorities (moqadems) as part of an investigation into the burglary of a warehouse belonging to the commune of Yacoub El Mansour. They are being prosecuted under arrest for breach of trust and theft of equipment.
This is the outcome of an investigation conducted by the elements of the Judicial Brigade of Rabat following the burglary of the commune of Yacoub Mansour’s warehouse located on Avenue Moustakbal. In total, 500 caps, as well as other equipment, would have been stolen, reports the Arabic-language daily Assabah. The arrest of the moqadems was only possible thanks to the fingerprints found at the crime scene. One is on duty in the Ocean district, while the other works at the Rabat Marina.

After their arrest, the two suspects were questioned, before being placed in custody. After postponing their appearance scheduled for February 12 due to contradictions in their preliminary responses, the two auxiliary authorities appeared under arrest on February 13 before the prosecutor of the king near the court of first instance of Rabat. They are being prosecuted for the theft of equipment belonging to the commune of Yacoub Mansour in Rabat. Their trial should open very soon. Other officials could fall.
