Rabat Amphibious Buses: New Tourist Route on the Bouregreg

After an unsuccessful first attempt, Rabat relaunches its amphibious bus project. The budget has been increased to acquire two innovative tourist vehicles capable of navigating the river and driving through the city.

SDL Rabat Région Mobilité has published a new call for tenders, with bids scheduled to be opened on 25 March 2026. To ensure the project’s implementation, the estimated budget has been increased from 23 to 26 million dirhams. The contract covers the acquisition, delivery, customs clearance, maintenance, as well as the dual approval (road certification from NARSA and maritime certification) of these two diesel vehicles.
