Rabat’s Urban Transport Revolution: 120 High-Tech Buses to Transform City Commutes

The company "Rabat Région Mobilité" announces that Rabat will soon acquire dozens of smart buses as part of the strengthening of its urban transport network.
Rabat is continuing to strengthen its urban transport network. A public tender has been launched for the acquisition of 120 state-of-the-art urban and intercity buses, equipped with modern technologies, for a provisional amount of over 361 million dirhams. This contract is divided into three distinct lots. The first lot relates to the acquisition of 60 standard 12-meter low-floor buses, for a budget of 154.6 million dirhams. The second lot concerns the acquisition of 30 15-meter low-entry buses, for an amount of 91.7 million dirhams, while the third relates to the acquisition of 30 18-meter articulated low-floor buses, intended for the busiest lines, at a cost of 115.1 million dirhams.
The advantage of this diversity of models is the coverage of both local services and the main axes connecting Rabat to its periphery, as indicated in the specifications. All vehicles will be equipped with the latest generation diesel engines, complying with at least the Euro V standard, in order to reduce the environmental impact. Advanced technological equipment: electronic ticketing systems (SAEIV), surveillance cameras, Wi-Fi connection and on-board information screens, are also planned for the future fleet. A comprehensive support including training, maintenance and a 24-month guarantee, ensuring optimal and sustainable operation, is also included in this contract.
The company "Rabat Région Mobilité" will launch the opening of the bids for this public tender next September.
