Rabat Airport New Terminal Opens August 2024
The new terminal at Rabat-Salé airport should enter service at the end of July or beginning of August. The first flights expected would notably concern departures to the holy sites for Umrah.
The new terminal at Rabat-Salé airport should finally be ready to welcome its first travelers. According to Rue20, the infrastructure would have obtained all the necessary authorizations to receive passengers and aircraft.

The service launch should take place in the coming days, with flights scheduled to start around August 1st. The first announced rotations would concern flights to the holy sites for Umrah, during the first week of August.
This opening was expected earlier. The Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdessamad Kayouh, had previously indicated that the new terminal was to open in June, but this timeline was ultimately not met.
Terminal 2 should allow Rabat-Salé airport to increase its capacity to 5 million passengers per year. The project is part of the broader plan to modernize Moroccan airports.

Currently, the total capacity of the kingdom’s airports reaches approximately 40 million passengers per year. With the future Casablanca airport project and the expansion of seven other platforms, it should reach 80 million passengers by 2030.
