Rabat-Salé Airport: The new terminal is ready for an imminent takeoff!
The new terminal at Rabat-Salé Airport is now ready to international standards. This flagship project will quadruple the capacity of the capital, bringing it to 4 million passengers per year from its inauguration scheduled for the end of Ramadan.
The major expansion of Rabat-Salé International Airport is now complete. This new infrastructure is connected to the first building and has modernized road access from the Rabat-Meknès axis, thus facilitating traffic flow for travelers to the capital.
State-of-the-art facilities, including mobile bridges allowing direct passenger access to aircraft, have been installed, as observed by Rue20. Efficient kerosene supply systems have also been deployed to meet the operational requirements of major global hubs.
The exterior layout has been given special care with tree-lined roads and careful lighting. This 69,000 m² terminal is fully in line with the "Rabat, City of Light" program, aimed at sustainably transforming the transport infrastructure of the region. Modernization of Rabat-Salé Airport and the challenges of the 2030 World Cup
This modernization will significantly increase the number of direct routes. New air links to several European and Arab capitals are planned, strengthening the Kingdom’s connectivity as well as its economic and tourism appeal on an international scale.
The project is part of the national strategy preparing for the 2030 World Cup. Financed by ONDA with the support of the African Development Bank and the French Development Agency, it consolidates the country’s position as a major logistics hub.
The completion of the work puts an end to a complex file marked by the withdrawal of an initial service provider in 2022. The platform is now ready for its inauguration by King Mohammed VI, offering services including six telescopic bridges and a 1,300-space car park on two levels.
