Qatar’s Emir Celebrates Morocco’s World Cup Advancement with Flag Wave

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, reacted to Morocco’s historic qualification for the round of 16, after its victory over Canada on Thursday (1-2).
36 years later, Morocco is back in the World Cup round of 16. The Atlas Lions beat the Canadians on Thursday and secured first place in Group F ahead of Croatia. They will face Spain, second in Group E, next Tuesday. This new feat of Hakim Ziyech’s teammates was hailed by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, who followed the match with members of his family until the end.
Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani waved the Moroccan flag at the end of the match. A way for him to express his pride in seeing Morocco progress in the competition. In a video published after the match, the Emir of Qatar addressed his congratulations to the Moroccan team and its coach Walid Regragui.
