Hamad Ben Khalifa Al Thani, father of the Emir of Qatar, Cheikh Tamim ben Hamad Al Thani, went "as a friend" on Wednesday to support Morocco in their World Cup debut against Croatia. For the occasion, the patriarch even wore the kingdom’s flag.
A very short video, showing the former emir happy, with the Moroccan flag, posted on social networks has gone viral. It shows the royal family seated in the VIP stand of the Al-Khor Stadium, proudly waving the Moroccan flag, thus showing their support for the Atlas Lions.
The initiative was widely welcomed by Internet users who appreciated the beautiful gesture of Hamad ben Khalifa Al Thani towards the Moroccans.
