PSG Threatens Player Exodus: Hakimi and Others at Risk as Club Seeks Performance Boost

With a mixed season with 8 defeats since the World Cup, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is taking radical measures towards its players. Those who will not be performing until the end of the season will be sold, Luis Campos has threatened. Achraf Hakimi could be affected.
The manager plans to put on the transfer market the players who will not meet expectations in the last nine games remaining before the end of the season. Luis Campos has already circulated the statement internally, even though he is aware that not all players will be sold. Last summer, the club parted ways with 18 players (out of contract, sold or loaned), recalls Le Parisien, stressing that the threat remains nonetheless founded.
Despite its stars like Moroccan Achraf Hakimi, Kylian Mbappé, Léo Messi, PSG has lost its last two home games against Rennes (0-2) and Lyon (0-1), and now only has a six-point lead over Lens and Marseille. After its victories against Lille, Nantes or Brest, the Parisian club will try to win its next matches against Nice, Lens, Angers or Lorient. An objective that will be difficult to achieve with its "demobilized" players.
Luis Campos privately assures that he will treat all players the same, stars and unknowns. But we can guess that some key players in Christophe Galtier’s squad like Hakimi, Mbappé, Verratti, Mendes or Marquinhos will not be affected by this requirement on the pitch. But nothing is certain. Recently, PSG has set a new competitiveness criterion, allowing players to earn more if they meet the objectives.
Accused of rape and indicted since February, Moroccan defender Hakimi, also injured, has been less efficient in recent matches. Even if he does not seem threatened, he should work to maintain his performance to avoid a transfer during the next transfer window.
