PSG in Talks with Morocco over Hakimi’s Availability for Trophée des Champions

While preparing for the Trophée des Champions, PSG is facing uncertainty regarding the participation of Achraf Hakimi.
The Moroccan defender, essential for the team, is called up for the Africa Cup of Nations, which casts doubt on his presence in the match against Toulouse this Wednesday, January 3. Meanwhile, Kang-in Lee, the South Korean midfielder, has confirmed his participation despite his call-up for the Asian Cup.
Achraf Hakimi, a pillar of the Parisian defense, is at the heart of the discussions, believes Le Parisien. PSG and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) are in talks to find an agreement allowing Hakimi to play before joining Morocco. His presence is crucial for the club, especially since Luis Enrique hopes to start the second half of the season with a trophy. Hakimi, after a very good performance at the World Cup, is seen as a major asset for PSG.
The situation remains complex and uncertain. The Moroccan coach, Walid Regragui, insists on having all his players available at the start of the preparation, which complicates the possibility of seeing Hakimi on the field for PSG on January 3. Several other clubs, notably Sevilla with En-Nesyri or Valencia with Amalah, have not succeeded in convincing the FRMF to let them play important matches before their departure to Morocco.
