PSG’s Hakimi Struggles as Team Advances in Champions League Despite Draw

Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi had a difficult evening during the 1-1 draw between Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund, a result that allowed PSG to qualify for the next round of the Champions League thanks to AC Milan’s victory over Newcastle. The sports media were not kind to the Moroccan player.
Hakimi’s performance was marked by a big mistake: the loss of possession that led to Dortmund’s first goal. This fault was highlighted, particularly by Footmercato (4.5/10) and Maxifoot (4/10), who both emphasized his difficulties in both attack and defense.
Despite a key role in PSG’s strategy, Hakimi failed to meet expectations. Dicodusport (5/10) notes a difficult start to the second half, although a slight improvement was observed later, notably with a disallowed assist for offside.
While Paristeam (5.5/10) and Eurosport (4/10) acknowledge moments of pressure exerted on the opposing defense, they deplore a lack of consistency and impact in Hakimi’s game. His offensive discretion, in particular, has been a point of disappointment.
The harshest judgment comes from 90min.com (3/10), which describes Hakimi’s performance as unrecognizable. The usually reliable player seemed to lose his footing, missing many opportunities both in attack and defense.
Achraf Hakimi has undoubtedly experienced one of the most difficult evenings of his career against Dortmund. Between defensive errors, lack of offensive impact and questionable decisions, his contribution to PSG’s game has been widely questioned. To be improved therefore and quickly!
